Do you want to ensure we have state-of-the-art trucks in all applications, staying ahead of the other truck brands throughout the shift to sustainable transport solutions? This is what drives Trucks Solutions Planning, and we are now looking for a new team member to join us on our mission. If it sounds interesting to change the world to the better, at work, apply now!
Who we are
Trucks Solutions Planning as a team has the global responsibility to drive the direction of Scania's product development to optimize our customers' and Scania's profitability, and make us the leader in sustainable transport solutions. Our working environment is characterized by high integrity, a flat hierarchy and collective leadership. We are the voice of our customers and sales force when Scania makes product development decisions.
We are in principle acting in translating Scania's corporate strategies and sales strategies into product strategies that ensure that we are competitive in the market place also in years to come. We have a cross-functional working place cooperating with internal Scania departments, the global Scania distributor network as well as within the Traton group.
About the role
As Product Planning Manager Powertrain, you own the product strategy for the truck powertrain. You make use of your network within Product Management, the Scania distributor network and the R&D community to continuously identify the powertrain related product demands that need to be solved for Scania to reach our sales targets. You then form and maintain a product strategy dealing with these demands, and influence our product development project portfolio both in terms of what projects we start and in terms of how they stay on track.
You will work in close collaboration with a Product Analyst, who supports you with analytical activities. You share the responsibility with the team manager to coach and develop this Product Analyst.
The powertrain product area is of special importance the coming years, in the transition from combustion engines to electrification. We need to make sure we have a competitive offering and generate profit on the sales that is not electrified. At the same time we need the contribution from more energy efficient engines and alternative fuels to honour our Science Based Targets commitment.
Responsibilities
• Identify, analyze and understand the global potential of all powertrain customer demands
• With support from the team, prioritize the most important demands for R&D to solve and set the long term powertrain strategy
• Together with R&D, initiate development project solving the most important demands
• Visualize the demand inbox and development portfolio to maximize transparency
• Continuously work together with R&D to secure fast time to market of the right development scope
• Represent Trucks in all powertrain related development projects and forums
Who you are
To be successful in this position it is crucial that you are a team player with knowledge of, and interest in, conventional powertrains. You work in a structured way and have excellent analytical skills. Furthermore we are looking for someone who is strong in communication, builds wide contact networks, takes natural ownership of assignments, is target oriented and feels comfortable with prioritizing and defending our case. High level of English verbally and in writing is a requirement.
You have a university degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent. You probably have around 5 years work experience from product planning/management, the commercial system or product development work within R&D. Previous managerial experience is not a requirement but has proven to be an asset when driving strategic activities under own responsibility. Ability to coordinate with other stakeholders and drive the work in the right direction is necessary.
If you think that you are suitable for this position, we highly encourage you to apply as soon as possible. At Trucks Solutions Planning we celebrate difference and care deeply about diversity and inclusion - if you do not match all the requirements, please demonstrate in your covering letter how your passion, attitude and interest in the success of Scania's customers might compensate for this.
Timeline and process
Kindly apply as soon as possible, with a CV and a cover letter, but not later than the 13th of September. Please note that a background check might be conducted for this position.
We are really looking forward to your application!
