Milling is the heritage, heart and flagship of Seco Tools. Within Product Line Milling, we identify, develop and evaluate new product ideas and enhancement to existing product portfolios as well as strategic product portfolio extensions, and we translate research discoveries into usable and marketable products. We now want to devote additional efforts to keep our leading position in indexable milling with focus on sales and marketing activities, portfolio management for increased profitability as well as strategic business development.
We are now looking for a Product Line Director for Indexable Milling. This is a chance to create a solid global network and develop skills in portfolio management, marketing and sales. Since the areas of responsibility concern the whole value chain, there are many possible career paths, into R&D, Sales and Operations, as well as General Management. The location for this position is Fagersta, Sweden, and includes about one week per month of travel time.
Key performance areas
As Product Line Director for Indexable Milling, you work with a broad range of activities from top-line growth activities, portfolio optimization and cost rationalization to stock availability and marketing. You set the strategic agenda for the product portfolio in the product line and align it with the global strategy; including outsourcing and acquisition activities. You also monitor and analyze the competitive landscape and provide strategic oversight, ensuring that product specifications, options and pricing are aligned throughout the product range. With focus on marketing and sales, you develop and communicate the customer value proposition, and sponsor new product development. You analyze and set targets, correcting deviations when necessary, and ensure that all the product portfolios include a lifecycle perspective. Additionally, you define and size market segments, including GAP analysis, for the product line.
We are looking for someone with a degree from a relevant field of study, or equivalent knowledge obtained from previous assignments. You have at least seven years of experience from global management, and preferably experience from marketing or product management and the metal cutting industry. Experience in international marketing and sales, as well as business administration is considered advantageous. You have good skills in verbal and written English, while knowledge of Swedish, French or German is a plus.
