We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher for an applied research track in circular economy connected to sustainability measurement, financing, and procurement in the green transition. You will work in close collaboration with leading partners in industry and the public sector to explore and enable new ways of creating value in a period of transformation. Through your research, you will contribute both to cutting-edge academic work and to practical impact in industry and the public sector.

You will join the research area of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, one of Sweden's leading research and teaching environments in this field. The research group collaborates with major national and international companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), policymakers, and other research teams. Research results are produced in close cooperation with industry and other actors. The research area has a strong track record of publications in top journals, such as Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, among others.

Project description
We are now seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our research track focused on circular economy, with a particular emphasis on developing management systems that support sustainability reporting, financing, and procurement within the green transition. A significant part of the research is aimed at addressing organizational needs by identifying transformation challenges, developing improved criteria and indicators and supporting the implementation of methods that make circularity measurable, governable, and financeable.

The empirical work focuses on co-creation with partners in both industry and the public sector - including policymakers, procurement professionals, sustainability strategists, and actors in the recycling industry - who play a central role in driving organizational change and enabling sustainability transformation. Examples of solutions developed in the project include new circularity criteria for procurement, enhanced indicators for resource efficiency, and models for traceability and valuation of circular flows. These partners are key contributors to the research. This role is particularly well-suited for candidates who wish to engage in research conducted in close collaboration with external stakeholders and contribute to advancing the tools that enable a measurable and actionable circular transition.

Duties
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have the following main responsibilities:

• Initiate, design, and conduct data collection and analysis in collaboration with senior researchers and partner companies, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

• Co-author scientific articles together with other researchers.

• Write research funding applications.

• Plan and carry out outreach and dissemination activities (e.g., webinars, popular science articles, workshops and presentations).

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in business administration and industrial management (up to 20% of full-time).

Qualifications
In order to be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, you must hold a PhD or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation or a related subject (e.g., Business Administration or Industrial Engineering and Management). You should have strong research credentials or experience from similar research projects or areas, as well as a pronounced interest in the circular economy. We expect you to have solid knowledge in accounting and/or finance. Experience of publishing in journals at ABS levels 2-4 is meritorious. A background in conducting applied research in close collaboration with industry or the public sector is meritorious. Knowledge of the circular transition-specifically sustainability measurement, governance, and procurement is also meritorious.

A doctoral degree awarded no more than three years before the application deadline provides a useful qualification. Candidates who obtained their degree earlier may also be considered if there are special grounds, for example different forms of statutory leave. The position requires good skills in oral and written communication in English. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is meritorious.
