School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability
The University consists of four interdisciplinary academies and the current position is located at the School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability (FIH). Here you get to work in a research and educational environment with a focus on sustainable development and entrepreneurship. The school trains future economists, engineers, environmental scientists and biologists. The school has approximately 120 employees and consists of four departments, the department of Construction and Energy Engineering, the department of Business Studies, the department of Environmental and Biosciences and the department of Engineering and Innovation. FIH offers education at the undergraduate and advanced level, as well as doctoral education in the field of Innovation Sciences. The research is multidisciplinary and often takes place in co-production with other actors.

We currently have post-doctoral position available in Information driven care and Innovation Sciences. This is a two year position with a possibility to extension with one year if additional external funding is received.
Information driven care is a research program at Halmstad University that focuses on the digital transformation of healthcare, typically by interacting with industry and the healthcare sector. The program has a multi-disciplinary perspective on the complexity of information driven solutions, such as clinical decision support systems or other AI-solutions, by focusing on innovation, technological development, and implementation.
Principal duties
The primary duty involved in a post-doctoral position is to conduct high-quality research. Teaching may be included, but not exceeding 20% of working hours. The position shall consist of the opportunity for formal training in higher education.
The research involves taking part in ongoing or new projects in the research program. The focus for this position will be on the management of development and use of generative AI for health innovation, such as large language models or code generation, from an innovation perspective. The research include collection and analysis of primary and secondary data using mixed methods, and writing high-quality scholarly articles related to innovation management.
The candidate will be involved in applying for external research funding and engagements with national and international research communities.
Teaching duties include providing guidance and support to MSc or PhD students associated with the project in Innovation Sciences and teaching classes in Industrial Management and Innovation.
The applicant needs to demonstrate a strong research profile in the fields related to topics of interest for this position, including recent activities with high impact. The scientific production is expected to be published in high-quality, peer-reviewed research journals and conferences. Documented experience from innovation, research and development in an industrial environment is also a strong merit. The applicant should share the value that diversity and equality among researchers and teachers brings to research and education.

Requirements
- Documented experience in innovation management and/or innovation science.
- Proficiency of at least one of healthcare, medical technology or AI.
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English
Meritorious
- Basic verbal skills in the Swedish language
- Experience in projects interacting with firms and/or healthcare organizations
- Work experience in medtech and/or healthcare sector and/or AI-oriented business
- Experience in teaching or supervision at undergraduate or advanced level
Skills of importance for the position:
- Communication skills, involving for example to take responsibility for communication within a project, with collaborators and to communicate research results and impact to society.
- Collaborative skills, meaning ability to collaborate with other disciplines and with other types of organisations, i.e. industry and healthcare
- Knowledge and experience in conducting high quality research, including research ethics, and qualitative and quantitative methods.
Consideration will also be given to how the applicant's knowledge and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department and how they contribute to its future development.
