The candidate will be working in a stimulating interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with experts in nanoscience, microbiology and biochemistry.
Project description
The host laboratory is a vibrant and productive research group with 30+ scientists (mostly postdocs and PhD students) working on various challenges within bio-sustainability and human health. In this particular project, we aim to develop a generic sensing platform, functionalized with different receptors, that will be able to detect biomarkers for cancer, infection, antimicrobial resistance, and metabolic/hormonal disorders. Major responsibilities
Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. The position may also include teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.
Qualifications
Mandatory education, skills and experience:
Undergraduate education in electronics or nanoelectronics.
PhD degree in nanoelectronics, not older than 3 years.
Extensive experience with fabrication of nanoelectronics devices.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Advanced scientific writing skills, ability to write peer reviewed papers independently.
Meritorious experience and skills:
Experience with graphene-based materials.
Experience with functionalization of graphene with proteins or peptides.
Contract terms
This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two years.
