Postdoc in Semiconductor Materials
formally based at IFM
Duties
The project focuses on the development of AlGaN with controlled doping for microwave and high-voltage applications. The work involves MOCVD growth with an emphasis on reducing background doping through the use of alternative precursors, adjustment of process parameters and reactor development. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with doctoral students and industrial partners within the Centre for III-Nitride technology, C3NiT at IFM. The applicant must therefore be willing to engage in and collaborate with our industrial partners and doctoral students, and to contribute to the implementation and demonstration of the research. The project also includes characterization of the optical and structural properties of AlGaN.
A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who holds a PhD degree in physics or materials science. Knowledge of semiconductor materials and solid state physics is a requirement. Experience of MOCVD growth and characterization of the III nitrides is considered obligatory. Proven record of writing scientific articles is also required.
The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.
