Dfind Science & Engineering is looking for a Pharmacovigilance Researcher for a consultant assignment at our customer Uppsala Monitoring Center (UMC) starting as soon as possible. The person we are looking for is a pharmacist or registered nurse with a strong interest in advancing the field of pharmacovigilance. Your main responsibilities will be to participate in the detection and analysis of medicine-related risks in individual case safety reports and electronic health records, coordinate the publication of the WHO Signal document, i.e. summaries of new possible adverse drug reactions detected in the WHO global safety report database VigiBase® and distributed to over 120 WHO member countries. You will also correspond with experts around the world about ongoing investigations of potential adverse drug reactions and participate in scientific investigations of medicine-related problems.
UMC is responsible for the technical and scientific operations of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring. One of the core tasks of the UMC is to regularly screen the VigiBase®, to identify possible medicine-related risks that need further investigation. UMC collaborate with experts with various clinical, pharmacological, scientific and cultural backgrounds. The UMC also develops and improves methodologies for broad exploratory analysis of VigiBase®, electronic patient record systems, and social media. UMC leads and participates in international collaborative projects together with members of national pharmacovigilance centers, universities, health authorities, and industry. By joining the UMC, you will have the opportunity to work towards their vision of a world where all the patients and health professionals make wise therapeutic decisions in their use of medicines. Main interfaces/collaborations are with other members of the research section, UMC external clinical and pharmacological consultants, the WHO programme's national pharmacovigilance centers and other external collaborators, including academic groups.
The assignment will start as soon as possible, and continue until the end of August 2016.

Qualifications:
You should have a university degree in pharmacy or being a registered nurse with expertise and interest in medical writing and pharmacovigilance. English is mandatory, fluent in both written and oral. It is an added advantage if you have experience from working with safety signal detection, clinical work, medical terminologies, data management and project management. The ideal candidate is an ambitious person, with a high level of responsibility and the ability to take own initiative and with a good sense of details. You should also enjoy interacting with co-workers and other stakeholders within an international pharmacovigilance community. We expect you to be a strong team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
