JOB DESCRIPTION
As a PCB Designer at Axis you will be part of our team of full-time PCB designers, focusing on one thing, PCB design. The printed circuit board is an important part of our products and needs to be designed professionally for production in high volumes at low cost.
In this role you will be working in close cooperation with both the electronics engineers who prepares the schematics for the product and the mechanical engineers doing the mechanical design. You will also be available for our production sites around the world for production support regarding the PCB’s. You will be part of an important team that are involved in both the design of new products as well as preparing the platform for future products based on the CPU's developed by our Chip Platforms team.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We believe you have experience in one or more advanced PCB layout software, preferably Mentor Graphics PADS Layout, Expedition or Cadence Allegro, and you have some knowledge about production processes involving high-volume products. You like to be involved in the part that makes the foundation for all electronic products.
Furthermore we believe you’re a quick learner who is accurate and careful and you can cooperate with both mechanical and electronics engineers. You are artistic, strategic, persistent and careful and you are also fluent in English and Swedish.
THE ELECTRONICS AND MECHANICS DEPARTMEN
The unit is responsible for the design and development of the hardware in Axis products, including electronics, PCB CAD and mechanical CAD. The unit is also responsible for the regulatory approvals (such as EMC and Safety) of our products. We are currently organized in five teams, two mechanics, two electronics and one PCB design team.
We act as a knowledge center within hardware development and collaborate with other departments within R&D to develop our future products. We also work in close cooperation with other units responsible for production, logistics, quality, support and product management.
