The arena
Information Strategy, Systems and Analytics (ISSA) as a part of Global Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety and Quality Assurance function (GRAPSQA) has a special role in the development of medicines and in ensuring AstraZenecas license to operate by developing, maintaining, implementing, and continuously improving processes and standards related to the handling, exploitation and timely reporting of safety information, as required by regulatory authorities worldwide. The strategic goals of ISSA require a portfolio of information assets, systems and related expertise to be managed in line with an overall safety information strategy, to address the business needs of the Patient Safety organisation, its partners and customers.
The role
The Expert role within Patient Safety Information Strategy, Systems and Analytics (ISSA), will work with the Lead for Pharmacovigilance Systems to provide technical input across a defined area of the global portfolio of Patient Safety information and systems assets. This jobholder will have generic accountabilities and responsibilities which are common amongst their peers, as well as responsibilities specific to the evolving Patient Safety Pharmacovigilance Systems area within AstraZeneca. He / She will work with the Pharmacovigilance Systems Lead to support innovative project portfolio development across the safety database and reporting tools, focusing on report design, development and maintenance primarily from Business Objects (SAP). It is expected this individual will aid the Pharmacovigilance Systems Lead in the identification and deployment of solutions focused on addressing business needs across the Patient Safety database area.
This jobholder will support the design, development, implementation, continuous improvement, and/or optimal utilization within the Pharmacovigilance Systems area. He / She will work in a deployed relationship with the Pharmacovigilance Systems Lead to provide technical input on the safety database and reporting projects utilizing enterprise-wide solutions such as Business Objects, SAPPHIRE and JASPER -- to meet business, partner and customer needs. The jobholder will have an understanding of how current and future components of the information and systems portfolio, relevant to Pharmacovigilance Systems, can be developed to ensure optimal benefit for the user community across Patient Safety (including AZ Clinical, Regulatory Affairs, and Late Development Safety Teams) and wider business groups. This can include innovative solutions that: support current and future Patient Safety capabilities; enable Patient Safety to deliver or integrate scientific information and knowledge more effectively; or ensure regulatory compliance is delivered in a more effective and/or cost-efficient manner.
