If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.
Our organization:
Volvo Group Trucks Operations Europe and Brazil Manufacturing in Umeå, manufactures truck cabs for the European market and cab parts for the global market. The cab plant in Umeå has a capacity of 75,000 cabs per year and is Norrlands largest manufacturing industry with approximately 1,400 employees. The production facility is one of the world's most modern cab plants with advanced manufacturing technology based on robots and computerized monitoring. The production is based on customer orders. This means that each cab is unique and made entirely according to customer requirements. With customers' success as our drive we continuously improve our production and logistic setup in order to be the most successful cab manufacturer and to deliver a premium quality cab.
This is us, your new team:
The logistics engineering department at the Ume? factory designs and setup internal logistic flows to deliver all the parts needed to build a cab. We are responsible to support and develop all internal logistic processes from goods receiving to point of use. Together with productions engineers, material handling, line operators and production managers we work to continuously improve our internal logistic processes. We participate in all product and process projects that have an impact on logistic flows. Today we are 13 colleagues, with different backgrounds, ages and genders. As a member in our department you will be part of a global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals who work with passion, trust each other and embrace change to stay ahead.
Main activities and responsibilities:
We are looking for a committed future production logistics engineer to help us make Umeå a world class factory in cabs manufacturing. Main work will be to apply lean thinking and improve our internal materials flows. You will work with incoming goods, warehousing, internal deliveries, kitting activities and part presentation. Supporting material handling and production processes in problem solving is one of our most important activities.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Master of Science (civil engineering, industrial engineering, business engineering)
• Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Excellent spoken and written Swedish or willing to learn rapidly
• Process oriented and analytical and a hands-on mentality
• Problem Solving; Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions and works well in group problem solving situations
• Technical Skills; Assesses own strengths and weaknesses, pursues training and development opportunities, strives to continuously build knowledge and skills and shares expertise with others

Volvo Group Trucks Operations encompasses all production of the Group's engines and transmissions, as well as all production of Volvo, Renault and Mack trucks. The organization is responsible for spare parts supplies to the Group 's customers as well as for designing, operating and optimizing logistics and supply chain for all brands, production facilities and distribution centers where the Volvo Group operates.
