As part of our strategy to further automate and digitalize our supply chain we are looking for a Operational Technology Engineer to join our Technology team. Essity's Technology team, belongs to the Global Hygiene Supply Personal Care. It is dedicated to provide the right technology enabling our Personal Care plants boosting their performance.
As part of our strategy to further automate and digitalize our technology we are looking for Engineers in the area of Operational Technology to develop, harmonize and implement our digitalization strategy.
The Operational Technology Engineer holds the overall control of technology Kpi's in assigned feasibility studies, developments and implementations within the Operational Technology Area. The role holds the responsibility to define technical requirements and deliverables in activities/projects according to the digitalization strategy. It is operational responsible within projects or line tasks to execute development and implementation of operational technology through partnership and cooperation with external suppliers and internal parties.

In this role you will report to the Technology Area Director Digitalization. The location of the position can be at any of our sites/offices preferably in the Netherlands or Sweden.

Main Tasks
Setting up and implementing standardize architecture (from device to MES/ERP level)
Identify, develop and maintain best practices in the area of operational technology to drive the future growth of the company
Validate developed/introduced solutions before transferring into a standard
Secure developed solutions are transferred in a standard that can be reapplied (both technical as knowledge)
Secure alignment between OT deliverables and strategic digitalization direction
A blend of hands on control system development and ownership for a specific technology or equipment area.
Manage Intellectual Propriety topics within assigned projects
Be technology responsible in transferring OT knowledge within the technology organization
Secure developed solutions can be integrated within the operational organization
Steer external suppliers in assigned projects.
Identify and advise on best available solutions in supplier market
Drive supplier development (including technical capabilities) in assigned projects.
Prepare Capex input in assigned project

Key Competencies
Bachelor of science in a relevant Engineering related subject such as Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
Knowledge and practical experience of developing automated solutions and engineering problem solving
Experience working in a manufacturing industry
Preferably awareness of Smart Manufacturing, Factory of the Future and Industry 4.0
Process development experience, demonstrated ability to manage international electronics suppliers
Strong knowledge of applicable electronics standards
Experience developing process documentation, test methods, operational procedures and test plans.
Understanding of the software development process.
Experience in systems design and / or collaborating with systems engineers required
Ability to travel
