The section Engine Control and Calibration is part of Powertrain Engineering at R&D. Currently we are approximately 120 employees organized in seven groups working with function development, engine control and method development for Diesel and Otto engines and hybrid applications. Our vehicle and engine variants are rapidly increasing at the same time as we adapt to new legal demands. The next step in legislation is not that many years away and we need to be focused in our work to find the right strategies to meet customer satisfaction, fuel efficient vehicles and fulfil emission legislation.
Volvo Car Group is a dynamic place to work at with interesting technologies and advanced engineering. New products will keep Volvo Cars a premium product with high environmental focus. Our group is responsible for application of aftertreatment control on Diesel engines. We develop and calibrate related SW. The group's impact on legislated emissions is large and we take responsibility for making our Diesel engines aligned with emission legislations. We work with a number of different aftertreatment technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Lean NOx Traps (LNT) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). We do a large amount of our work in different engine test cells located in our laboratory but also in vehicles on site and during expeditions to find extreme climates and altitudes
We are now looking for an analytical and self-driven Modelling and Data Analysis Engineer to strengthen our modelling resources. Your main responsibilities will be to develop our aftertreatment control models. We use advanced programs for modelling and data processing for best end result, you will work with development of our data analysis tools for quick representation of the large amount of data. We hope to see a person that are open-minded with a positive attitude and have a great way of working together with other people, as you will work closely with our controls and calibration engineers.
Main responsibilities
• Develop our plant models of the aftertreatment system
• Support the engineers by developing our data analysis tools
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. in engineering or Ph.D.
• Matlab/Simulink and/or Python experience
• Modelling and data simulation experience is preferable
• Model Based Calibration experience is meritorious
• Experience of engine controls as well as experience in Diesel aftertreatment technologies will also be meritorious
