Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, as well as the European Commission. A Permanent International Secretariat was established in Stockholm in October 1998. Currently there are 19 employees working at the Secretariat working across the five priority areas of the organisation.
The CBSS website shall provide the basis for a one-stop-shop that gives an overview of the activities and projects implemented by the CBSS and its cooperation partners. Thus, ensuring a better understanding of and inter-connection between the broad range of activities taking place in the Baltic Sea Region.
The current version of the website was launched in 2009 - the 4 month contract position is to ensure a thorough refreshment of the web presence of the Council.
The job description is intended to describe the general nature of the work being performed by the incumbent of this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of the position. Together with the Media and Communications Unit, you will continue to develop and implement the CBSS Information and Communication Strategy.
The position will serve the entire CBSS network by ensuring that the organisation's web presence and outreach work aids our mission.
The incumbent is expected to have both strong technical capacity and interpersonal communication skills, and to work in close collaboration with all staff members of the CBSS Secretariat.
The Media and Communications Website Assistant will work as part of the Media and Communication Unit and under the leadership of the Head of Media and Communication. Direct supervision and reporting will be to the Media and Communications Officer. The Website Assistant is responsible for providing technical/analytical and creative assistance to the team as a whole.
The incumbent is expected to have both strong technical capacity and interpersonal communication skills, and to work in close collaboration with all staff members of the CBSS Secretariat.
Your main responsibility will be to:
• Together with the Media and Communications Officer, adapt and improve the current CBSS website, integrating a stronger brand identity as well as social media platforms into the structure.
• Assist in the process to develop a fresher website, ensuring that the site is visually appealing, versatile, structurally clear, user friendly and organisationally coherent.
• Assist in publishing and preparing content on the organizations portal, extranet and internet websites and social media platforms.
• Evaluate and maintain consistency and quality, reviewing content across the priority areas of the Secretariat to ensure accurate, up-to-date and easily-accessed information.
• Create Acrobat PDF files from MS Word, MS Powerpoint and MS Excel files.
• Edit visual and text-based data
• Archive images and publications
