With increasing technology differentiation and growth of R&D efforts from sophisticated customers, especially in the automotive industry, our strategy with Northvolt Labs in Västerås is to provide a facility for them to develop their own design, then test, industrialize and qualify it, before taking it to large-scale production. Northvolt Labs is a cutting-edge demonstration line and R&D center that will enable fully process representative manufacturing and allow a faster and more efficient time to market for unique formulations, cell formats and technology.

As an Associate for material handling you work with the equipment and process materials in production. You work according to Northvolt values, routines, budget, management system and plan. A safe operation production line is our highest priority. This role will work closely with other Shift Leaders, Production Manager, Safety, Quality, Environment, Maintenance and Process teams.

Key responsibilities
Report failures and deviations on equipment as well as doing root cause analysis in order to solve the issues together with team, maintenance or engineers.
Take proper actions when having failures and deviations affecting the production.
Assure safe conditions with Lock Out Tag Out Try Out according routines when having repairs or inspections of equipment.
Work together with maintenance team with good and proactive cooperation.
Assure competence and competence development in shift team in close cooperation with the managers.
Perform risk analysis and issue permits according to routines.
Ensuring and leading the work with Safety, Quality, Environment and Improvement work according to Northvolt routines and legislation together with your shift team.
Supporting managers and colleagues in creating a good working environment with inclusion, motivation, engagement, creativity, good communication and high ambitions.
Supporting managers and colleagues in establishing a good culture where all of us work together to provide the best solutions to employees, customers, suppliers, owners and thereby the best to Northvolt.
Always strive to improve with focus on safety, quality, environment and production efficiency mainly towards but not limited to operator control central.
Continuous Improvement (CI) for shift team.
Giving positive and constructive corrective feedback in order to make room for improvements and development. Strengthen positive behaviour working in an organisation where improvement suggestions from all are appreciated.
Participating in rotation of work duties, in order to develop the competence within the shift team.

Skills & requirements
• 3 years of Safety experience from process industry working with permit procedures, Lock Out Tag Out, near miss reporting, safety audits, maintenance audits and daily following up on Safety actions.
• 3 years of experience from Process Industry (battery/paper mill/food/ chemicals/microelectronics/oil & gas/medicals processing or similar)
• 3 years of working with process control systems
Experience of equipment, piping, pumps, valves, control tools, chemicals, electronics.
Administrative competence, ERP, work orders, mail, incident reporting.
Understands how to utilize the equipment in order to run efficient manufacturing with optimization of energy and costings.
Good English both written and oral skills.
Basic Swedish and other languages skills is seen as a plus.
Good communication skills as you will be replacing shift leader on meetings, provide shift turnover information, be in contact with team members and external parties such as suppliers, contractors, authorities and auditors.
Work with process evaluation and documentation.
High work ethic, multi-tasker, strong analytical ability and attention to details, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
