We design, develop and manufacture hydrogen electric fuel cells and systems for aviation, propulsion, stationary, and marine applications. Our fuel cell systems have unparalleled power density, and the only emissions are water and heat. At our headquarters, located in Gothenburg, more than 120 employees work hard to deliver zero-emission solutions to customers around the world. We are growing fast and are always looking for new colleagues to add to our innovative, friendly, and ambitious culture.
Background
Fuel Cells are an important part of the transition to sustainable energy solutions. Our fuel cells are used in various applications, such as marine, aviation, automotive and heavy vehicles.
All fuel cells are coupled to an electric distribution system. Voltage, current and dynamics are different in the different configurations and use cases. For scale of economy and best usage of the fuel cell with respect to efficiency and durability the coupling of the fuel cell to the electrical bus is done most commonly through a DC/DC. The characteristic of the DC/DC, interaction and protection of the fuel cell is important to get as much value as possible.
It is important for us to better understand the state-of-the art of available DC/DC suitable for our products as well as the state-of-the-art of research on DC/DC for fuel cells. And finally how PowerCell can improve our technical offering to customers by a DC/DC portfolio that fits our products and that improves the utilization of our fuel cells.
Main tasks
• Explore and identify suitable DC-converters for different stack configurations, both with and without voltage limiter circuits.
• Investigate various DC-converters topologies and switching ripple, and optimize the system through ripple analysis, filter implementation, and electrode strength assessment.
• Stay updated on the latest research and literature on how to improve the interaction of fuel cell and DC/DC
We offer you the opportunity to join the journey with us to deliver true zero emission to our customers, partners, and the world. You will work with highly skilled and devoted people; cutting-edge tech and you will be able to have an impact on the work and on the organization. PowerCell is a fast-moving company, fast growing and we have fun doing what we do. Come join us!
