www.ecology.su.se). The Department maintains unique ecological time-series from the northern Baltic proper, including physical, chemical and biological observations.
Titel: Postdoctoral position
The post doctor will participate within the multidisciplinary research program BEAM 'Baltic Ecosystem Adaptive Management', a Stockholm University Strategic Marine Environment program (www.smf.su.se/beam), and is expected to produce new useful information for an ecosystem-based management of this unique system.
The focus of the position will be on analyses of long-term observational data from the Baltic Sea to gain understanding of the role of weather and climate drivers on ecosystem functioning. The post doctor is expected to collaborate with other ongoing BEAM projects and will have the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary research team.
We seek a highly self-motivated candidate with strong quantitative skills and a background in aquatic ecology combined with knowledge/interest in management of aquatic ecosystems. The candidate should have experience and interest in statistical modeling, time-series analysis, and population and/or community dynamics. Programming skills in R or MatLab is advantageous. Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills, good work ethics, and the ability to think creatively and critically are desired.
The candidate shall have received their PhD at most three years before the end of the application period, unless there are special circumstances that should be taken into account. These might be illness, parental leave, union duties or similar.
