We are looking for Linux Test Engineers, who will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests on both in Yocto and in the Linux kernel areas, leveraging existing frameworks and contributing upstream to these projects where appropriate. The test work is done to ensure that our deliveries maintain high quality, catch regressions, monitor performance changes over time, and ensure controlled compatibility changes.
Areas where we expect you to work:
• Be responsible for test strategy development and execution
• Create detailed test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications
• Execute automated tests, analyze results, identify defects, and report them appropriately
• Work closely with our developers to understand code changes, discuss testing requirements, and collaborate on resolving identified issues.
• Generate reports on test results and provide feedback to project teams
• Monitor and analyze test execution performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize test scripts for efficiency.
• Ability and tenacity to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions
• Help troubleshoot issues
Join our Team
Experience you will ideally bring with you:
• M.S. Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience as a Test Engineer or similar role
• Experience in test automation and CI/CD
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in open source development
• Familiarity with the ptest framework in Yocto, LTP (Linux Test Project) and RT-Tests
• Familiarity with benchmarking tools, such as UnixBench, iPerf, sysbench, etc.
• Experience with automated open source test frameworks to execute test cases across different environments.
• Familiarity with the bug tracking systems Bugzilla and Jira
• Experience and proficiency in open-source community norms and behaviours, such as Linux kernel developers, and associated system tool communities
• Strong communication skills
