We have developed a range of completely new, innovative product platforms and our goal is to convert every adult smoker to these smoke-free platforms, as fast as we can.THE OPPORTUNITYAs a Legal Counsel you will support the Senior Counsel Nordics with managing all legal aspects of the business of Philip Morris Nordics including those related to regulatory compliance, competition law, marketing, sales, employment issues, commercial and corporate law, intellectual property, data protection and any other matters assigned by Senior Counsel Nordics and certain other PMI regional or local project teams.You will partner with the management of Philip Morris Nordics to reach business objectives in a manner consistent with all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies, reporting to Senior Counsel Nordics within an established framework including review against defined targets. RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provide timely, accurate and business orientated legal analysis and advice, representation, negotiation and documentation, in a wide variety of areas listed above and support the Senior Counsel Nordics on all Philip Morris Nordics business initiatives and other matters in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies. Support the Senior Counsel Nordics with sharing issues of common interest with the members of the Law Department including information on developments in the local markets and best practices for advising clients and organizing workflow.* To support the Senior Counsel Nordics with ensuring the provision of optimal legal support for Philip Morris Nordics and certain other regional project teams through both internal and external resources.* To assist the Senior Counsel Nordics in the development and implementation of departmental plans and objectives within Philip Morris Nordics to support the business initiatives.* Support the Senior Counsel Nordics in the review of both the local and regional business proposals for consistency with laws, company policies and the terms of the proposed transactions. Follow developments in Philip Morris Nordics business to ensure legal and company policy compliance and identify legal issues for the Senior Counsel/local management.* To remain current and knowledgeable with respect to current and pending legislation, case law and administrative regulations pertinent to all subject matters relevant to the business and provided accurate and timely information to the Management of Philip Morris Nordics (including the Supervisor) in relation to relevant legal developments.* Assisting the Senior Counsel Nordics to ensure that any external lawyers are managed cost effectively in accordance with agreed budgets and deliver work product on time and in line with expectations.* Where requested by the Senior Counsel Nordics, participate in project teams with other members of the business, ensuring that their decisions and recommendations protect the legal interests of the company, and execute decisions to achieve objectives on a timely basis. Provide training on legal issues to employees of Philip Morris Nordics as needed including on compliance topics such as anti-bribery, the PMI marketing code and competition law.MAIN CHALLENGES1. Take ownership of legal aspects of affiliate issues and participate in cross-functional teams to help reach business objectives while minimizing risk to the company.2. Remain objective at all times while promoting compliance with the letter and spirit of the law and company policies.3. Counsel and advise with both short and long term views and risk.KEY REQUIREMENTS* Education: University Law degree* Work Experience: Ideally 3-5 years post qualification legal experience in a relevant area of law from a well-regarded law firm or international business (ideally FMCG, Pharma or Retail). Candidates with 2 or more years' post-qualification experience are also encouraged to apply. * Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. * Career Stage Competencies: Clear and constructive communication, customer focus, building strong relationship, integrity and trust, courage, efficiency, diligence, excellent attention to detail, process management, priority setting, planning, emotional intelligence, composure, listening, self-knowledge. * Relationships: INTERNAL: Provide PMI senior management and project teams with timely, accurate and constructive legal advice; EXTERNAL: Ensure that outside counsel provide timely, high quality, comprehensive advice and other services at a reasonable cost and in accordance with the Philip Morris International Guidelines for Outside Counsel with respect to assigned matters.
