High level purpose of function
The purpose of the Lead System Engineer is to lead a development program from technical perspective, to assure that everything that is requested and agreed by customer will have proper technical requirements and implementation. The Lead System Engineer coordinates together with the Program lead the ownership and responsibilities of all the subsystem and component ownership.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Overall areas of responsibility and activities
Lead System Engineer
• Leading the full system level development of the (ESS gen 1) program, meaning deriving and defining all the top level product/program requirements (L1)
• Interact with customer to agree on the high level requirements
• Review/write test cases to enable validation of the top level requirements
• Review the L2 requirements that are broken down from the top level requirements
• Support the implementation of the development process
• Coach the younger engineers both technically and from process perspective

Requirements
Education or other qualifications or competences relevant in order to succeed in the job
Qualifications/education/experience
• MSc in e.g. Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical engineering or similar area
• 10+ years of experience in product development in an applicable field
• Experience with Development process
• Strong knowledge in Battery technology and BMS solutions
• Knowledge in functional safety standards and how to apply them for Battery solutions
• Strong knowledge in how to assess and design solutions for energy flow, performance and cell behaviour
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
Ability to work in an international environment
Responsibility to driving topics and create solutions and requirements where there are gaps
