Research and Development creates and develops the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo Cars. Seats is part of the Interior department and develops the interiors of all our cars with responsibility for the complete design process from concept development to industrialisation. The development work is mainly performed in Gothenburg.
At Rear Seat system engineering, we are responsible for delivering a great customer experience of rear seat comfort, Scandinavian luxury and safety. We lead the development of a complete integrated rear seat into the vehicle balanced to project requirements. Our diverse group consists of some twenty persons with different competences and backgrounds and who, in spite of what we work with, don't sit around. We are now searching for a Lead Engineer for new car projects.
What you'll do
As a Lead Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the technical development and progress of the product. You will report to the Product Owner. Work will be performed in a cross functional agile team in a cross functional extended team with competences represented from suppliers, product engineering, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, attribute leaders such as comfort and cost engineering among others. Your task is to lead and follow up this team to secure time, technical solutions and cost.
The role is challenging and will further develop your people, as well as project planning, skills, you will execute in a large-scale project environment.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe that you have a M.Sc. or a B.Sc. but most important to us is that you have a background in automotive engineering and have, successfully, participated in at least two new car programs from start to end. Parts of this time shall be with either project emphasis or senior engineering emphasis. It is important that you know and understand the complete chain of automotive engineering / industrialization and what requirements that puts on you in terms of personal order, courage, technical understanding and passion in order to succeed.
Qualifications: Seat design knowledge, documented Lead Engineer positions, Volvo Car Group knowledge and our project development process and administrative systems.
