The Vehicle team within the V.A.S. Technology organization is responsible for vehicles, machines, trailers, and safety systems in V.A.S. autonomous customer solutions.
We take part in all life cycle phases, from the early specification and development phases throughout the maintenance and quality phases during customer operation. We interact closely with colleagues in different entities within Volvo group to secure base vehicle and machine readiness.
We develop and integrate the on-board autonomous driving systems and the off-board safety systems. It is our responsibility to ensure that the vehicles and machines can be operated by the autonomous driving system in a good and safe manner. Our team is the link between the base vehicles/machines and the autonomous driving system. We host and are responsible for the components that makes the systems fit together and work over time. We strive towards an optimized way to specify, select, develop, document, verify & produce our products.
Who are you & How will you make an impact?
We 're looking for You that loves electrical hardware components who feel triggered by new technologies and the chance to be part of the team that makes it happen!
The day to day work will include tasks related to component ownership, as specifying and selecting components, documentation of electrical hardware components, verification & validation, quality and other measures. Together with the rest of the team You will working with new technology that will drive the transformation of our industry, and You will be an important part in securing that the electrical systems are properly integrated together (trough contacts, cables etc.) and that the hardware - and software design is compatible. The work includes the opportunity to impact the technical solution as well as the daily work and the organization.
For success in this role we believe you to have:
University degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics or similar technical field of study as well as work experience in the relevant field.
Knowledge of various electrical components and experience from electrical system integration, installation of electrical components, physical testing & troubleshooting of electrical hardware components.
Knowledge of regulations connected to electrical components in automotive and/or machine applications.
Previous experience in technologies such as Electromobility, Connectivity and/or high integrity solutions will be considered as a plus, as well as experience from development for low volume production.
