We are looking for a laboratory engineer for Quality Control (QC) at Borealis in Stenungsund.
The Quality Control laboratory in Borealis analyses the raw material and the different plastic products produced at the plant in Stenungsund. We have high quality demands and a variety of laboratory equipment and techniques, such as rheology, XRF, density, chromatography, cleanliness, FTIR and SEM.
Role purpose
As a laboratory engineer at QC you will be part of the quality work at Borealis. You will have the responsibility of analyse equipment and respective methods within our quality control area. Optimize, develop and maintain methods with focus on safety, quality and accuracy.
You will play an important role in the quality control engineer team and you will represent quality control in different projects and cross functional teams where you will share your area of expertise throughout the organisation.
Your responsibility will also include instructing and training laboratory staff in your methods and instruments.
You must think analytically, have good problem solving and change management skills, enjoy working in an international environment and at the same time, be able to work independently, take initiative and to be disciplined and strict in controlling the applications and technical environment.
Contribution
• Contribute to overall HSE&Q performance by always keeping high HSE&Q standards
• Develop, optimize and maintain analyse methods in given area
• Contact with internal and external customers, colleagues and instrument suppliers
• Contribute in cross functional teams where quality, operability, and customers are in focus
• Keep track of data and statistics on given instruments
• Give input to instrument development actions
• Be the interface to maintenance, operations and service
Knowledge, skills and experience
• MSc degree in analytical chemistry or chemical engineering is preferred. Knowledge in polymer science and experience within spectroscopy and chromatography are considered an additional qualification
• Documentation, presentation and reporting skills
• Good IT skills
• Ability to work in multi-cultural and cross-functional teams.
• Process industry knowledge
• Understanding of atomization and technique of measurement
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Swedish and English
