hela Sverige The Science Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Lab Assistant (summer job) to the Detector Group.
Description of group
The Detector Group has an active development and construction programme that is time critical for successful completion of the ESS project.
Description of main responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a Lab Assistant posted at the Source Facility, working closely with our close collaborator, the Sonnig Group from Lund University. Some of the work might be required at the ESS Detector Workshop called Utgård. We seek a Lab Assistant to help with the testing and scientific general work as well as with hands-on work for the space setup as required. The candidate will also help with the several administration tasks for the Detector Design Section.
Qualifications
The position is best suited for someone working towards a degree in Physics, Science or Engineering, who has an interest in both hardware as well as demonstrable technical skills. The ability to work independently and according to timetables is highly desirable.
To be successful and perform well in this position you need to be a quick learner, a team-player and be able to follow established rules and procedures. It is also important that you can work at a high pace and keep a positive attitude even when demands are high.

Duration & Location
The position is a fixed term positions of 10-12 weeks. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
