To Siemens Industry Software, we are seeking a service-oriented and problem-solving Windows expert, responsible for support and operation of the internal IT environment in the Nordic offices.

The role will be located in the Kista office. The person would be expected to travel between Kista and our offices in Trollhättan, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Vejle when required.

Scope of role:

IT Infrastructure

• Support of remote users

• Liaison with external support (DELL / HP)

• Maintain and keep the IT inventory up to date

• Rollout of new equipment

• Responsibility for virus checking software and updates

• Internal training workshops for staff

• Internal support of printers and other peripheral devices

Helpdesk

• Internal support of PC systems

• Setup / rebuild of IT equipment

• Ordering and maintaining spare peripherals

• Internal support of phone system (CISCO IP Phone, Mobile Phones, Blackberry)

• Internal support of office equipment (i.e. Projectors)

Daily Tasks:

Backups

• Check backups on Data Server.

• Change tapes as necessary.

Servers

• Check  Event Viewer on the main servers for any issues or problems

• Monitor disk quota and act accordingly when thresholds met

Helpdesk / Support

• Respond within agreed time frame for any calls logged via phone or email.

 Personal characteristics which are mandatory to fit into this role:

• At least 3 years of working experience in IT

• Excellent knowledge in all Windows OS versions especially Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows Server (2003, 2008 & 2008 R2)

• Excellent knowledge in TCP/IP

• Excellent knowledge in the core Microsoft Office applications (currently 2007)

• Good knowledge in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 and client

• Good knowledge in Microsoft Office LiveMeeting 2007

• Good knowledge in Symantec BackupExec

• Very good written and spoken English

• Basic understanding of the Nordic languages is useful but not required, our corporate language is English.
