Internship - Marketing Project Management
Purpose:
The Global Used Car & Fleet Development function is responsible for ensuring all head office activities are optimised for the growing global fleet and business market both today (40% globally of Volvo sales) and for the future, and that this sector has the "share of voice" commensurate with its potential and opportunity. Plus the growing opportunity for used cars through same central departments.
The team also supports Regional management define and drive the fleet activity of their National Sales Companies through information, events, marketing and competence.
Business structure linkage
In this role you will be reporting to the Global Fleet Development Manager (Gothenburg) and be a member of the Global Used Car & Fleet Development team, belonging to Global Retail Sales, within Global Consumer Experience.
Principal Tasks & Responsibilities
* To provide internal marketing support for the Global Used Cars and Fleet Development team, which may involve liaising with the Global Marketing team and external agencies for briefing, execution and delivery.
* To manage the content, design and promotion of the internal department & project sharepoints
* Marketing Support is defined as :
+ Supporting delivery of media plans with the international press titles
+ Inclusion on strategy of fleet and used cars asset development
+ Department asset briefing, development and delivery
+ Management reports on KPIS and target achievement
+ Event organisation in conjunction with Fleet Development team, Global Events team and external agencies
+ Supporting marketing development for the National Sales Companies
* To work with the internal networks through regular communications, meetings and reports to deliver their requirements for the departmental work streams
* To work with the external network of agencies for the delivery of marketing and media plans, strategy and content as agreed.
* To create analytical reports for delivery of projects and performance in line with KPIS and targets for the department
Internal Network
To be effective, the job holder will need a good understanding how to work with colleagues, agencies and create a network within VCC departments and fleet departments in the national sales companies.
External Network
* Agencies - marketing, data & intelligence
* Print & Media titles
* Fleet and Business Customers at events
Experience & Competence Required
The job holder will be need to be able to work in a complex and dynamic business area, and be able to develop a 360 degree view of the automotive industry, especially in fleet and business sales.
* Education - Currently studying for a degree and seeking a role as work experience or "year out in industry" with the intention to return to university for completion of degree. Post only available for those currently studying and not pre or post. Likely to be studying for business or marketing. Time available 9-15 months.
* Strong English written and verbal communication skills
* "Doer" approach required as this is a very hands-on role , self-starter and good time management on projects
* Used to working under pressure and able to work without close supervision, and able to focus on key priorities with successful on-time delivery to final conclusion
* Strong influencing skills, with an entrepreneurial attitude
* Attention to detail especially in copy, proof reading and feedback to agencies
