The Network Solutions department 4367 within Site Gothenburg is responsible for the development and financial control of products within the Network & Telecom area. The group consists of 20 senior engineers and functional managers driving the global Network and Telecom area. The Firewall/Network Security area is most essential and there are very high demands from our customers on performance and security.
To stay at the cutting edge and meet our customers' high demands we need to strengthen our team with a highly motivated Infrastructure Technical Specialist within the Firewall/Network Security area.
INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - FIREWALL/NETWORK
About the job:
The Infrastructure Technical Specialist works in an international team of experts on Firewall and Network Security within the entire company and will for this specific role be responsible for the Firewall product. This includes driving the development of new technology, design of new solutions and ensuring the operations have access to appropriate documentation. The life cycle management of the solutions includes development, vendor management and vendor selection.
Volvo IT has big DMZ installations with a lot of customers, worldwide. In 2011 we will see exciting developments, with new customers and challenging opportunities.

Work:
The main responsibilities for a Infrastructure Technical Specialist are:
• The functionality, quality and life cycle planning of the product
• The product development plans being in line with Volvo IT strategy, business requirements and technological developments
• Maintenance and global 3rd level support according to Volvo IT's common process
• Overall product development
• Information and documentation about the product including training and installation routines
• Proposing changes which make the system more efficient and / or reduce operation or maintenance costs
Qualifications and skills required:
For this position, we are seeking a senior technician that may have leader experience in the IT field. The successful candidate will have:
• Broad technical knowledge within the area of Infrastructure
• Broad experience of Juniper Firewall and IDP and Foundstone knowledge (Vulnerability scanner)
• Good architectural knowledge about DMZ and security solutions
• Several years of experience within the area
• Ability to work in a global, multi-cultural organization
• a team player with excellent communication skills - fluent English and Swedish, both spoken and written
