hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Amerikanska Ambassaden i Stockholm The American Embassy in Stockholm assists in the promotion of strong bilateral ties between the United States and Sweden and plays an active role in public diplomacy, business services, and traditional diplomatic relations.
The Health Unit Nurse operates under the supervision of the Senior Nurse, Administrative Counselor (for management operational matters) and the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) for professional matters. The incumbent operates the Embassy Health Unit and conducts on-going orientation to local medical facilities; preventive health care including immunizations and CPR training and other education for staff; referral to local physicians and facilities; arranging in-service and employment physical examinations, including pre-exam lab work. The Health Unit specifically is NOT a primary care facility; it does NOT provide on-premises physician services or after-hours direct emergency care. The nurses share on-call duty every other weekend and holidays to liaise between the American staff and the Swedish healthcare system. When on-call the incumbent is required to stay within 2 hours perimeter from the Stockholm area.
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
a. Education:
Must meet standards for registered nurses in Western Europe. Must have knowledge of the Swedish Healthcare System.
Minimum associate degree or professional nursing Equivalent.
b. Prior work experience:
Minimum of five years' experience in an outpatient Clinic. Experience and education must be validated by the RMO.
c. Post entry training:
Continuing education and in-service arranged in conjunction with RMO and MED.
d. Language proficiency:
Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.
Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing Swedish is Required.
e. Knowledge:
Must have knowledge of USA standards of medical nursing care. Must be able to counsel employees with physical, emotional and/or mental problems. Knowledge of emergency procedures. Ability to maintain extensive liaison and to conduct orientations and briefings, verbally and in writing. The ability to administer adult and pediatric immunization program according to current CDC standards are required. Experience in CPR instruction or interest to become a CPR instructor is required.
f. Skills and abilities:
Must be able to use specialized nursing equipment and techniques.
SELECTION PROCESS
When fully qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and US Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a limited security clearance.
