Volvo Group University (VGU) is Volvo Group's corporate university and provider of leading-edge learning solutions that enhance employees' learning agility and performance. By designing and delivering state-of-the art learning offers that are tailored to business needs, VGU helps bridging knowledge gaps and acts as a strategic partner with commitment to the development and growth of all people in the Volvo Group.
VGU operates in many different dimensions; both global and local, cross-functional and cross-organizational, both internal and external - connecting the Group to learning partners worldwide and ensuring the organization is geared for coming competency shifts.
Your objectives
As the Head of VGU, you collaborate closely with our Truck Divisions, Business Areas and Group Functions to understand their needs, to develop and deliver excellent learning solutions with a focus not only on the competences we need to perform today, but also the ones needed to excel tomorrow. With a continuous improvement mindset, external benchmarking, and internal listening as your tools, you optimize ways of working for better efficiency and effectiveness, while caring for employee learning experiences. You balance creativity with common sense, innovation with cost effectiveness and state of the art outcome with speed in delivery.
You are a role model for life-long learning, delivering programs and learning interventions that enable both business and people development, with a focus on competency shifts and future technologies. You strive to further optimize VGU's business model by finding synergies internally and externally, maintaining close relationships with the fields of talent management and enhancing the learning footprint through partnerships and vendor management.
In this role, you convert complex business needs into modern education tools, digital solutions and efficient learning practices to deliver results. You show your business leadership through your ability to lead, inspire and engage people.
As the Head of VGU, you understand the business and financials, you internalize the business demands and trends, trust and engage the total workforce in VGU and work effectively through the eco system internally and externally to enable Volvo Group's reskilling and upskilling commitment.
What you need to be successful
To be successful in this role, you need to be a team player with great communication and networking skills and a can-do attitude that gets work done. You have extensive leadership experience within the industry, and you are known as a global leader who shows that developing people and business is part of your DNA. As a leader, you can balance a pragmatic style with a clear vision to engage and inspire others. You have strong analytical skills, the mindset of an entrepreneur and a strong willingness to build a deeper knowledge about the needs of our Trucks Divisions, Business Areas and Group Functions to be able to serve them better. You are highly adaptive and ready to take on additional responsibilities that are assigned to you when needed. Leading in a virtual and cross-cultural context comes natural to you and you have a good command of Office365 digital tools as well as proficiency of oral and written English.
