Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new and innovative safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo. Within the department, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Driver Support and Protective Safety. To do this we use sensor systems based technologies such as Radar, Laser, Ultrasonic, Cameras and Accelerometers. Through Sensor Fusion, these sensors are combined to create an awareness of the vehicle surroundings that can be used by various Driver Assist and Safety Functions to support the driver.

We are now looking for a Hardware responsible for the team that is responsible for the Radar Hardware in our cars. We have the mission to offer the best Radars to support both next generation active safety systems and to maintain existing systems in the car. We are involved in all aspects of the product development process, from early research and advanced engineering projects to industrialisation and follow up from the customer. Our Radars makes it possible to offer a number of functions for the customer such as Traffic Jam Assist, Crouse Control, Emergency Braking, Self-driving cars and even more.

As Hardware responsible, you will be a part of the team that is leading and securing the technical development of the next generation Radars. You will together with other HW-responsible handle all the HW issues for our new and existing radars. It 's a close work together with function- and system owners and our suppliers, both external and internal. Main work is to establish breakdown requirements and communicate our needs to the supplier and to secure deliveries to our projects and cars in time. It also include securing packaging in car and understand the electro magnet problems that occur in a car.
The area of radar based sensing is a rapidly growing technology branch. Therefor it is of important to stay tuned with latest technical achievements within the industry. The development work executes in a creative international environment in close cooperation with the supplier.
Please note: This assignment do not include actual HW design at circuit level. That is done by the supplier.

We are looking for an open-minded, self-driven person that gets energy by delivery in time, solving problems, handling time plans and administrate. It is important to be able to present content and be proactive. Main responsibilities:
• Secure vehicle integration of the radars in the car. Many critical elements need to be handled in order to optimize the performance of the system.
• Responsible for the technical documents (both radar design and ECU design for installation).
• Secure quality work for the radar, humidity, temperature, documentation, test etc.
• Lead the HW design work for radars in the system in cooperation with the own team, other interfacing teams, and the suppliers.
• Contribute in developing analysis and verification plans and define new methods to secure delivery.
• Contribute with analysis of the radars in vehicle integration issues arising during development and integration.
• Contribute to the build-up of experience, by participation in the development of technology strategies within the area of competence.

Required qualifications:
• BSc in engineering.
• Relevant job experience from hardware development and testing within the radar field.
• Good knowledge about radar design.
• Experience from structured work in a structured development process.
• Experience from requirement management.
• Driver's license B (car).
• Fluent in Swedish and English.

Meritorious qualifications:
• Experience in managing suppliers in an international environment.
• Experience of working in requirement management tools such as System viewer, Elektra, Doors or equal.
• Experience of working with Base Technologies (SW download, Diagnostics, Network Management etc.).

• Problem solver and proactive.
• Great communication skills.
• Self-managed, while being a good team player and leader.
• Positive mindset.
