You will become a member of an agile development team with great team spirit, the wired communication team. The team is an expert team, part of an agile release train Enabling Base Technology and have many deliverables which are developed through advanced engineering and research projects. In our daily work, we are working agile (according to the SAFe framework) with 12 weeks program increment.
The wired communication team focuses on multiple wired communication technologies such as A2B, CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet and many more. The team members are responsible for designing and verifying the wired communication technologies through requirements, simulations and measurements. The team member's work in close collaboration with other teams and suppliers to make sure that the wired technologies are implemented according to Volvo Cars requirements.
We need one more colleague who have a special interest in hardware design; analog, digital and power electronic circuits. Maybe you already have experience from automotive interfaces?
You will primary work with CAN, CAN-FD and LIN and depending on your experience, contribute in the development of other communication technologies such as SENT, FlexRay and Ethernet. You will have the opportunity to contribute in the design, implementation, test and education activities regarding new automotive vehicle networks in close cooperation with other team members. Team members are automotive experts within their technology field and they will be happy to share their experience with you. Your location will be in Volvo Cars' development center in Gothenburg, Sweden.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, maintain and improve Base Technology specifications for the specific network technologies.
* Together with team members, be responsible to follow and have a close contact with standardization bodies, suppliers (semiconductor industry) and monitor roadmaps.
* Implementation support towards the implementation organization, which uses wired communication technologies for their applications.
* Be involved actively in the development of wired test methods (CAN and LIN), which are divided in validation of wired communication systems and system verification and component verification using Design For Six Sigma methodology.
* Perform proof of concept.
* Support in advanced wired communication testing activities (fault tracing and/or troubleshooting activities) whenever needed.
* Participate in the hardware design review to ensure automotive industry standards are fulfilled in terms of EMC, ESD, safety, vibrations, environmental and various other requirements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
* Experience with various digital and analog electronics, such a MCU, application processors, communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay, MOST, A2B, Ethernet)
* Measurement and analysis of hardware and software
* Fluent communication in English (both written and oral form)
* Driving license (B)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with systems integration and testing methodologies
* Experience with processor architectures (e.g. multicore ARM application processor) in terms of schematic and PCB development.
* The candidate should be able to understand and localize potential noises and interference sources in schematics and the PCB, and find solutions to minimize them.
* Education within Design for Six Sigma (Green Belt/Blue Belt) is a plus.
