The department Active Safety has been one of the fastest growing parts of Volvo Car Group over the last decade due to rapid development of autonomous functions and vehicles. By continuously launching innovative and world first active safety features Volvo Cars has positioned itself among the leaders in the automotive industry and now the work towards achieving our vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo continues.
We are now looking for a Hardware Design Engineers to join our team - Near Field Sensing.
As a HW Design Engineer you will work alongside a supplier to bring new automated parking functionality to market utilizing the latest ultrasonic technology in a fast paced and international working environment. The ultrasonic system is also an important contributor to the Autonomous Drive projects.
Your overall responsibilities
* As a hardware design engineer you own the hardware requirement specification (RS) and is responsible for communicating and aligning all hardware related requirements with our supplier base as well as with internal stakeholders.
* Perform quality assuring activities (FMEA & HW design reviews) in order to secure robust HW design.
* Define requirements for packaging of all system components to a team of CAD engineers.
* Develop and plan the need for HW related analysis and verification.
* Manage the team's hardware deliveries according to Volvo Cars release process
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in engineering or equivalent
* 1-3 years' experience from automotive industry
* Fluent in English, both verbally and written
* Driver's license (B)
Meritorious experience
* Experience of requirements management
* Experience from electronics development, HW development or diagnostics
or HW analysis & verification
* Knowledge of Agile ways of working
