Role Summary
As a Hardware Design Engineer in our unit you will be responsible for designing our transmission components (including parts like gears, shafts & bearings) in close co-operation with other developers (other design engineers, test engineers, simulation and calculation engineers) as well as our cross functions (Workshop technicians, Purchasing, Product Maintenance technicians etc) and external suppliers. At Traton Group R&D Product Development is truly a team effort!
Job Resposibilities
Leading the design, validation and introduction of your components
Balancing product properties and requirements from cross functions (Production, Purchasing, Product Maintenance) and external suppliers
Performing DFMEA, developing validation plans, managing your components in our PLM system
3d modelling, creating 2d drawings, writing technical specifications
Who You Are
We expect a technically minded, curious, kind and driven person, with 2-3 years of work experience as a Hardware Design Engineer, who is proficient in Catia V5 (or similar), has an academic Engineering degree and that masters Swedish and English in speech and writing.

Our unit, Gears & Shafts (TGRPDTG), is a part of Traton Group R&D's Transmission Development. We design and test high-performing transmission components such as gears, shafts and bearings allowing for best-in-class torque transferring properties, enabling the engine to operate at its most efficient thereby minimizing fuel / energy consumption. Our product portfolio includes innovative solutions both for e-mobility and vehicles with combustion engines. As a Design Engineer you are part of our innovative team developing and verifying our products.
We are a small, close-knit unit of 12 (9 Design Engineers, 2 Scrum Masters and myself) who support eachother and have fun at work. I, as a manager, am very trust-based in my leadership.
