hela Sverige As sub system engineer you will be responsible for quality, time plan, product cost, project cost, functionality and road map for components within your area. The components will to a large extent include power electronics and will in most cases also include control units with embedded software.
A large part of the development is outsourced which means that you will work close to external suppliers however some of your requirements are implemented within Volvo. The outsourced components are based on specifications with requirements set in close cooperation with the system groups, in-house SW development and projects.
Required skills:
• It is necessary to understand the fundamental functionality and the capabilities of a hybrid and electric driveline
• Master of Science degree or similar in Engineering, preferably mechatronics or power electronics
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• The work requires skills in both teamwork and individual work
• Structure, organized, a lot of go and a drive to take the lead is an advantage
Volvo Group Trucks Technology - Powertrain Engineering is the strategic centre for powertrain development in the Volvo Group. The scope covers complete powertrain systems, components such as engines, transmissions and driven axles, and design of powertrain solutions for the future such as hybrid drivelines and engines for alternative fuels. Powertrain Engineering is global and has sites in Sweden, France, Spain, North and South America and Japan.
Driveline and Hybrids develops transmissions and electromobility systems and components for the vehicles in the Volvo Group. Center for this development is in Göteborg (Lundby). Driveline and Hybrids in Göteborg consists of about 70 people split in four groups.
The group Electrical components is responsible for the electrical components of the hybrid/electric driveline, e.g. inverters, electric motors, batteries etc. The development of electro-mobility systems is in an expansive phase and we have many initiatives and projects in parallel. Since 2009 we are in serial production with the hybrid driveline.
The Electrical Components group is a team of 18 people with a good atmosphere and a great go-ahead spirit. The group is responsible for the development of the 600V components, including the component SW functions, in the electromobility drivelines. We are now looking for engineers that want to contribute in the development of these components and systems.
