Volvo Buses is now seeking a Group Manager for Functional and Field test within Complete Bus department. The Complete Bus department is responsible to develop robust concepts and verified and validated solutions for industrialization meeting customer needs together with other development areas. We are a contributor in developing solutions solving product deviations for vehicles in operation.
The Functional and Field test team is part of Platform Development which is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil.
Functional and Field testing is responsible for secure that our products are verified regarding functionality of SW integration and that we get validation of complete product from customer operations in field tests. The team is a mix of competences and experiences with a high engagement and consist of twelve people today. In this position you will also be part of the Complete Bus management team, and report to Complete Bus Department manager.
At your job you will:
One main challenge for the team is to develop and implement verification strategy that corresponds to ISO 26262 and customer needs for software, both own developed and integrated. Therefore, it's important that you like to start up, but also drive changes and implementations all the way to the end destination. Your main task over time is to develop the team and the individuals to support future challenges contributing to the deliveries start cost, maintenance and advanced engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets.
You will also be the driver to together with the team develop how we build long term relationship with customers to get good customer validation in field testing of our products. One important function as a group manager is also to define, agree, communicate and execute strategies and targets for the team and the department together with the management team of Complete Bus.
We are currently on a change journey to implement Lean@VBC with the focus to strengthening the engineering voice by actively work to understand customer needs and usage where we grow and share knowledge amongst each other. We are taking responsibility for the full delivery and are adaptive for the world around us.

To be a good match we think that you also have:
Experience regarding software development or verification
Experience from leader positions is an advantage
University/Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
Fluent in English and Swedish, spoken and written
Technical knowledge from busses and/or trucks is an advantage
