The ABB Power Grids division is the world's leading supplier of power and automation products, systems and service solutions for the entire value chain from power generation to the transmission and distribution of electricity. You will be part of ABB HVDC. HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power through long distances at minimal loss, using overhead lines, lands and sea cable systems.

We are now looking to expand our team with a dedicated Global Product Manager (GPM) for the MACH Control & Protection system.

Tasks:

You will be a key player in the Product Management organization of the Global Product Group, reporting to the Global Product Management & Marketing Manager for HVDC Sweden.

As Global Product Manager you will lead and direct the HVDC organization in the market alignment and drive the strategy to assure long term profitable growth and marketing of the MACH offering to target market segments, by developing and managing it through all of its life cycle phases, according to market needs and Product Group strategies and targets.

Your role will be to support business results by overseeing all steps in the solution life cycle, including development, new solutions launches, supporting the business development and solution maintenance. You will track and analyze performances in terms of capability to fulfill customer expectations, sales volumes, cost levels, and trigger the needed corrective actions when appropriate.

You will act as an interface between both internal (for e.g R&D) and external functions to propose and evaluate solution feasibility projects, evaluate investments and priorities and set-up solution roadmaps. You will also collaborate with the Global Product Management team and internal Marketing and Sales teams to define the marketing messages, marketing plan, including marketing communication activities, training activities and sales initiatives.

In addition, the GPM of will ensure technical and commercial support to the sales and engineering force during the business development phase, tendering process and execution.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a Master's degree in business administration or engineering, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience within product management. You should also have a high level of substation Control & Protection knowledge and experience, at least 7-10 years. Additional relevant experience is considered a plus, especially excellent strategic communication skills.

It is preferred that you also have experience from turnkey projects in the power industry. You should have leadership experience and display strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills. You should be comfortable interacting with customers and with proven experience of successful sales activity, on technical or commercial aspects.

You should be comfortable with pro-active business development, have proven experience with establishing and optimizing commercial set-ups, and also be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where you shape your own structure and work approach. The job requires some travel, up to 10%.

In addition, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary, and skills in analytics tools are strongly preferred. Lastly, strong proficiency in English and Swedish, written and spoken alike, is necessary for this role.
