We're looking for a full stack focused web developer to join our team here in Gothenburg, Sweden.
We are a non-boring company and we do non-boring stuff. There is no one tech you need to know. Open mind and good fundamentals. Do you know Linux? Mac? Know how to sudo? How to edit configs, restart services, install Postgres, run Docker, code APIs, talk to customers, connect to AMQPs, query databases, make web UIs in React?
Right now we need help with a stream data processing micro-service oriented system written in Python with a front-end in React on TypeScript with 5 different types of databases running over a couple hundred pods in Kubernetes.
Now that might be intimidating. No two ways about it. Intimidating, but also kinda fun, right? Right?
Where else are you gonna find a project where you're one day dealing with a 2TB raw sample Cassandra file and the next tweaking the crosshairs on a chart and implementing a cacheable API. And come winter, you may well be OTA deploying a firmware for a self driving hot weather balloon for CES 2022 in Las Vegas. Or perfecting a jump-cam for Branäs Fun Park. Who knows.
But the prospect sound fun, right? It is. It really is. And evolving. We help each other learn and grow. You don't have to be an expert in all domains, but you need to know enough on the full stack to get you off to a flying start, that's the bottom line.
We're a quirky, diverse, autonomous group of people. We have fun and we get the job done. Tech might change, the projects, the demands, the scope, but come release date - the job's done.
Role requirements
Can run things: Linux services, configs, installations, docker containers
Can build things: CI/CD and docker images.
Can CLI compile packages in for instance Python, Java/Kotlin, Rust, Type Script. Knows about semantic versioning.
Can code things: Git rebase, APIs, reactive, streaming, react hooks. Has coded in at least 4 programming languages the last couple of years.
Understands designs and can make web UIs, preferably in React, preferably in TypeScript. Knows their way around browser's Developer Tools.
Knows their way around ssh, grep, curl, less, apt, telnet and other CLI tools. Understands pipes. Knows the difference between > and >>
Understands how network stack works and VPNs, proxies, port forwards etc. Knows what nginx can and can't fix.
Can do cloud: Knows about AWS / DigitalOcean and preferably Kubernetes.
The role can optionally be temporarily remote due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, with the goal of you joining us in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Depending on your qualifications, you might be asked to do a small assignment, and participate in two or three interviews.
