We are looking for a happy and responsible nanny who has previous experience in taking care of babies and toddlers. The family has two daughters who will be 2 years and 6 months when the position starts in June. The position is mainly sole-charge of the youngest though the older sister goes to pre-school 9am-3pm. The position includes nursery duties and the family is looking for someone who is happy help out with some grocery shopping, running the washing machine if needed etc. The family has a cleaner so no cleaning is included. The duties for the nanny is more day to day care of the laundry and fold and sort into closets, cook, mainly for the children but sometimes also an extra portion to the adults, shop, etc.
Working hours are about 8:30 to 17:00, sometimes 18:00. One or two days a week may be shorter though the mother is just going to work 3 days a week to begin with. The family estimates that the nanny will work about 40 hours/week or a little less. The parents will always take the older girl to nursery in the mornings and the nanny will pick up in the afternoon.
The family is seeking an independent person who can take initiatives of what needs to be done and make sure the kids are well cared for. As most Swedish families, the parents likes the children to be outside playing every day. There is lots of great playgrounds and parks in the area, allowing sledding in the winter and pick-nicks in the summer. Some fun and stimulating activities are encouraged but it's also important for the family not to over stimulate the children and to allow calm playtime at home as well as time outside.
It?s appreciated if the nanny is able to travel with the family a couple times a year. Mainly in the summer when the family spends about a month in France. However if the nanny wishes not to travel it won't be a deal breaker. This position will start with a month in Stockholm before the family goes to France in the beginning of July, the family hopes that the successful candidate will be able to join them then.
There is an option for the nanny to live in. The family will provide the nanny with a double bedroom with bathroom and separate entrance. The family home is situated right in the city center only minutes away from the bussing streets with restaurants, bars and lots of nice cafes but also only a short walk away from beautiful walks along the water in the parks. The family is open for the nanny to live-in or live-out, if the nanny wants to live-in the family will welcome the nanny as part of the family.
The family prefers a nanny who speaks English or French with the children but will also consider Swedish speaking nannies. Their current live-in nanny is English speaking and the mum is fluent in French and Swedish as well as English. The right candidate must have experience in caring for babies from six months old as well as toddlers.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications and will also depend on if the nanny is to live in or live out.
The position begins in June.
