The Event Coordinator will reinforce the department's overall ambition to further support and strengthen the Institute's awareness and recognition in Sweden, the Institute's home base.
The primary responsibility of the Event Coordinator is, in cooperation with SIPRI's Outreach Department, to help identify and logistically set up opportunities for SIPRI Senior Management, including the SIPRI Chair and Staff, to engage within Sweden. Swedish-language competence is a requirement of the job.
Main task and responsibilities
Specifically, in coordination with other members of the department, the Event Coordinator will:
• Identify and implement activities that could serve the purpose of increasing the awareness and recognition of SIPRI among key stakeholders and entities in Sweden;
• Coordinate engagement with Swedish parliamentarians and the foreign policy expertise;
• Prepare SIPRI's new annual initiative referred to as The SIPRI Lecture
• Set-up meetings and events; and
• Contribute to further strengthening ongoing efforts and initiatives of SIPRI's existing and established outreach in Sweden.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
• Documented experience in event-booking logistics, project administration
• Excellent written and oral communications skills in both Swedish and English
• Familiarity with SIPRI's research areas is an added value

Varaktighet, arbetstid
Starting from 1 April 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be, initially, until 31 December 2018 with a possibility for extension.
