Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment
We are looking for a person who has experience working with large data sets relevant to ecosystem research infrastructures and who is interested in communication and administrative support.

About the position
The SITES Secretariat is recruiting an Environmental Analysis Specialist to contribute to the infrastructure's data management and communication support. The majority of the work will involve managing and mobilizing data from SITES thematic programs and research stations, but will also include maintaining SITES communication efforts and supporting other ongoing activities within the SITES Secretariat.

Your profile
As the work involves various data management tasks, great importance is placed on analytical skills and the ability to work in a solution-oriented manner. We will also consider previous communication experience and experience with relevant communication tools. The work will be carried out in collaboration with a multidisciplinary group within SITES and we therefore prefer that the applicant has solid experience and education within the ecosystems where the infrastructure operates.

Qualification requirements:

• PhD in a research area relevant to SITES
• Documented experience working with large datasets of types relevant to the infrastructure

The following are meritorious:

• Experience and skills in programming and open source software such as R, QGIS
• Experience working with scientific communication and/or administrative support
• Knowledge of national and international data catalogues and metadata standards regarding open data repositories and requirements according to the FAIR principles
• Experience working with national research infrastructures and field research stations
• Experience in written and oral research communication

Personal qualities considered during recruitment include the ability to work in a structured manner with an eye for detail, a high degree of independence and adaptability while being a team player.

About us
The Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment is working with applied environmental science, with a national responsibility for assessing the condition of Swedish surface waters with respect to water chemistry, pollution and aquatic biota. The research focuses on geochemical and hydrological processes, aquatic ecology and biodiversity, microbial ecology as well as on environmental chemistry and ecotoxicology. The department has about 150 employees, of which approximately half are researchers/doctoral students and the other half are technical and administrative staff.

The department hosts the secretariat for SITES (Swedish Infrastructure for Ecosystem Science, www.fieldsites.se), which is a national research infrastructure with support from the Swedish Research Council and various partner organizations.
