We are now looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our team Core Technologies Media within Research & Development.
WHAT WILL YOU DO? The Core Technologies Media team is responsible for the long-term agenda within video coding and audio processing. We pioneer new solutions, define and execute roadmaps and provide a corresponding technology and knowledge base enabling Axis to develop highly competitive and innovative products.
The team you will lead works in projects covering video and audio processing algorithms and SW from the very early innovative and exploratory phase to the implementation, delivery and alignment with the receiving product organizations. Our activities result in state of the art bandwidth management and video quality, and make sure we continue to lead by innovation. The growing team currently includes 10 members of mixed age and gender, all very focused on their tasks and with significant experience and drive.
Your main tasks will be to
Lead the team and individuals in their daily activities, make sure we get most out of everyone and that they feel support and respect for themselves and their tasks.
Drive the technology and roadmap planning within the team's technology areas.
Make sure we work with state of the art methods for algorithm and SW development.
Interact with the receiving product organizations, make sure we understand their requests and they our deliveries, negotiate if needed, and conclude and drive the way forward towards successful products.
Identify and setup projects or activities around new tasks and requests, make sure the scope and requirements are clear and that each project has sufficient staffing, planning and efficiency.
Develop your team and its members related to both the needs of the company as well as in balance with the needs of every individual.
Perform standard management tasks like development talks, salary setting, budgeting, etc.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for a driven leader who is passionate about both technology development and leadership and can create a stimulating and creative working environment. We believe you have a genuine interest and talent in leading and developing people and organizations.
Your educational background includes a master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or other relevant area. You have a background in SW engineering, both as developer but preferably also in roles such as scrum master, architect, team leader or similar and are well up to date with modern ways of developing SW.
We further believe that you have several years of management and strategic leadership experience and are fluent in both Swedish and English. You are an ambitious and initiative taking person that has good leadership skills with the ability to motivate the people around you. As person you are seen as positive and empathic, combined with the ability negotiate and decide when needed.
CORE TECHNOLOGIES MEDIA The Core Technologies Media team is responsible for the development of video coding and bandwidth management architecture, features and algorithms, and for the implementation of those in HW and SW, We are also responsible for the long term audio processing agenda. We deliver technology platforms on which the product development organization builds camera systems. The team is also a competence center for the R&D organization in areas of video encoding, band width management and audio processing technologies.
