Work on a highly intelligent, lightweight and motivated team to achieve our goal of revolutionizing the combustion engine with Freevalve technology. As calibration engineer for Freevalve, you will be the bridge between our hardware and software teams to ensure that all systems are up and running for testing and development.
Responsibilities:
• Implementing electronics hardware to both actuator and compressor systems to ensure full functionality
• Outline hardware-related software functionality, and work with electronics team to implement new or improve existing strategies
• Work with minimal supervision to execute detailed testing plans from actuator level to engine level
• Create and maintain structured data acquisition methods to log history and present results
• Interpret results to provide valuable troubleshooting information for hardware and software teams.
Basic Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in relevant field (mechanical, software, computer, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience in testing and calibration environment
• Experience specifying and implementing data acquisition systems and associated hardware
• Comfortable reading, understanding and troubleshooting functions in C, C++ or similar
• Fluency of MATLAB or similar
• High standard for electronics hardware management (wiring, schematics, etc)
• Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines and transportation technology
• Thrive with large degrees of freedom, responsibility and accountability
• Strong initiative towards organization and documentation
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in component testing and calibration environment
• Some experience with vehicle software and hardware implementation
• 1-3 years in leadership role in small, focused team
• Hands-on experience with engine dyno / vehicle installations
• Advanced knowledge of combustion engines and current technology
• Some fabrication and manufacturing experience
• History of personal projects related to combustion engines
