hela Sverige This position belongs to department 91600, Product Development Laboratory, at the PD (Product Development) Volvo Powertrain Sweden, located in Gothenburg. At Volvo Powertrain we are actively working to establish groupings that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent in differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality, etc.
Product Development Laboratory is a complete test laboratory with test capability for engine, transmission, drive line, acoustic and system testing.
Within Product Development Laboratory we are today focusing on increased effectiveness, future investments and we are implementing Volvo Production System.
Department 91621, Engine Workshop is now looking for a Mechanic to the PD lab in Gothenburg.
The Engine Workshop is responsible for assembly/disassembly, modification and preparation of engines for tests in test cells/rigs or vehicles. Our material handlers support the workshop with both prototype parts from our storage and production parts from our suppliers. We also support Skövde with parts for prototype engines.
As delivery precision/effectiveness and quality in deliveries are increasing this group are facing a number of challenges.
As mechanic you will work with:
Assembly and disassembly of engine components and complete engines
Work are done in test rigs, workshops and on vehicles
Perform your work in close cooperation with customers
Preparation of measurement equipment for test objects
Change components on test objects in test cells
Support quality investigations with handling and inspection
Support complete vehicle testing on road
Report in different It-systems
Work in close cooperation with customers
Qualifications:
Technical education
Use to work with IT-tools
Experience of working with VPS or similar operational development processes
Drive to improve your process and way of working
Result oriented
Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Experience of working with heavy duty diesel engines.
