With an idea to offer secure and simple payment solutions, Klarna was founded that same year. Five years have passed and we have grown to an ambitious and creative company of 300 employees. We have been awarded Company of the Year in -07 (bragging), increased our turnover by 13 570 % (statistics) and managed to become the Nordic market leader (facts). Klarna is partly owned by Investment AB Öresund and Sequoia Capital - a company that saw the same potential in Google, YouTube and Apple Computer, as they do in us. We think that is a good start.
Klarna has had incredible growth since day one, and the challenges we face both in and outside of Sweden have grown with us. More than 3 million Swedish consumers have shopped through our payment services and do so regularly. Klarna invoice and Klarna account have in a short space of time established themselves as the most popular payment services in e-commerce. Something we're proud of.
Klarna's journey is continuing. During the spring of 2010 we expanded to Norway, Holland and Germany. We'll also be launching new services and expanding into new countries within the near future. We work hard and love what we do, without ever compromising on quality or failing to meet the demands we face.
You'll be a part of Klarna's marketing department were you are responsible for communication towards the Dutch market. You'll be reporting directly to the head of marketing and will be given specific areas of responsibility whilst also working with separate projects. You will also be in close contact with our sales office in Amsterdam. We want you to succeed in your position and the resources you consider necessary to do so will be available to you.
The departments responsibilities vary but they involve, among other things:
• Adapting Klarna's offers to the Dutch market.
• Responsibility for the day to day dealing with the communication bureaus Klarna cooperates with.
• Petitioning requirements to the internal functions of Klarna.
• Overall responsibility for the linguistic quality of the material directed at the dutch market.
• Market research
• Responsibility for klarna.nl and similar pages.
• PR
• Communication towards both consumers and companies.
The work assignments will lead to rapid professional development and will lead to you having a central role in developing Klarna's Dutch offering.
You have a business related degree with a focus on marketing and a good understanding of the Dutch market. You have a passionate interest for strategic communication and are looking for a role in which they can grow. You likely have at least three years experience of working with strategic communication, although you may have just graduated, assuming that you acquired relevant work experience throughout your studies. Finally, you are looking for a company with rapid growth where you don't hesitate to work both hard and fast, delivering high quality results quickly.
You speak Dutch and English at a fluent or near fluent level. Any knowledge of other major European languages is considered meritorious.
You're business minded with a decisive mindset. Your reasoning should be analytical and structured, you should also be able to easily describe your ideas and results in ways which are understandable.
