Your opportunity:
Boliden Garpenberg is in an exciting phase of expansion. To meet new challenges, we are strengthening our organization and are now looking for a Drill and Blast Engineer/Technician. This is a great opportunity to contribute to our development and be a key player in shaping the future of our operations.
Who you will work with:
You will be part of the Short-Term Mine Planning team, working closely with surveyors, mining engineers and geologists. You will report directly to the Section Manager. In this role, you will collaborate closely with production, providing critical support for their operations.
This is a permanent, full-time position with daytime working hours. A probationary period may apply. Start date by agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
What you will do:
The main objective is to produce detailed drill designs for mine production in accordance with our guidelines and standards, including plans for long-hole drilling of stopes and designs for development drifting.
You will also be responsible for various tasks supporting production and planning activities, including calculating backfill tonnages, designing cable bolt support, and creating drillhole layouts for media passthrough.
Contributing to the further development of our design standards.
All these tasks should be done in close collaboration with the mine planning and production teams.
What you bring:
A technical upper secondary education, preferably supplemented with a technician or engineering degree at the university level.
Some experience in tunneling or underground mining, preferably within large-scale longhole stoping operations.
Some experience with drill planning/Drill & Blast work, preferably in a CAD environment.
Experience with Drill & Blast planning in Deswik is considered a plus.
Blasting certifications and training are considered advantageous.
Proficient in spoken and written English, with strong proficiency in Swedish considered a significant advantage.
A valid class B driver's license.
The ability to work independently and in a structured and organized manner.
Strong communication skills.
High attention to detail and a willingness to develop into more advanced responsibilities.
