hela Sverige We are now announcing three doctoral positions in Library and Information Science within the research school ReSource: Transforming Reading and Source Criticism in Digital Cultures.
The Swedish School of Library and Information Science at the University of Borås is the largest research and educational institution in Sweden in the field of library and information science. It offers education at all levels: Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral. The Swedish School of Library and Information Science has about 1,000 students and 15 doctoral students, as well as between 60 and 70 staff members, including ten professors and associate professors.
The Swedish School of Library and Information Science coordinates the research school ReSource: Transforming Reading and Source Criticism in Digital Cultures, supported by the Swedish Research Council. The research school takes its starting point in the contemporary information crisis and aims to explore practices of informational reading and source criticism through an analysis of the interplay between changing (commercial) information infrastructures, societal institutions, and the demands placed on people in different roles. For the call, the doctoral projects are to be formulated within the framework of the research school and one or more of its four sub-themes:
• Disinformation, changing information infrastructures, and source criticism;
• Contemporary and historical informational reading practices;
• Libraries as institutional settings for promoting informational reading and source criticism; and
• The credibility crisis of research.

Duties
Doctoral education The position as a doctoral student is full-time for four years in accordance with Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Departmental duties in the form of teaching and administrative duties of up to 20% of full-time may be required.
Eligibility
A prerequisite for employment is a Master's degree in Library and Information Science or a related field. Admission requirements for doctoral studies are stated in the general syllabus, see General syllabus for doctoral studies in the field of Library and Information Science (pdf).
Basis of assessment
Applicants are assessed on the basis of the degree to which they are capable of completing the doctoral programme. Applications are evaluated on the basis of quality, quantity, relevance and progression through previous education.
The position requires that the applicant meets the requirements for and is admitted to the doctoral programme in Library and Information Science at the University of Borås. The position is based at the University of Borås and active participation in the university's research environment is expected. Type of employment: Doctoral studentship employment is conducted in accordance with the regulations outlined in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
