About the research project
The position is tied to the project "AI for Medical Entry and Documentation in Care: Impacts on work environment and healthcare system (AI-MEDIC)".

AI-supported documentation is increasingly being implemented in healthcare. While promising reduced administrative burden and improved access to clinical information, such technologies also bring unintended consequences. This project investigates how AI-supported documentation affects healthcare professionals' work practices, the work environment, and the quality and efficiency of the healthcare system.

Through combining qualitative and quantitative methods, the project examines implementation processes, system-level impacts, and implications for employees. The project aims to support evidence-based and ethical adoption of AI-supported documentation that enhances healthcare without compromising staff well-being or patient safety. It is carried out in close collaboration between researchers from Chalmers and the Institute of Stress Medicine in Region Västra Götaland.
