Development Engineer -Tooling and CAD
Yangi is a disruptive technology for fibre-based packaging. Our team has more than 10 years of R&D work, and we have now started the journey of scaling the Yangi technology with the aim to build a global packaging solutions company. In this journey, a key pillar is to further build our team with more enthusiastic and motivated people with the power and courage to push boundaries.

About the position
You will play a key role in developing and designing tooling for primarily press and punch operations. As a specialist within the field of mechanical design and tooling, you will be able to contribute to new innovations in the tooling area and act as a supporting specialist within the area internally and externally.

Main responsibilities:
• Develop, specify, design, procure, and verify tooling for 3D-pressing and punching of dry-formed cellulose-based packaging products.
• Establish and provide the necessary drawings and documentation for products and tooling.
• Develop general technical solutions/processes for the mechanical conversion of raw materials into manufacturable packaging products.
• Participate and contribute to product development in customer projects.
• Together with colleagues, plan, execute, evaluate, and report trials. Practical work in the development lab is included.
• Establish mechanical and drawing standards as well as develop documentation.
• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with external partners, such as machine builders and tooling manufacturers.
Skills and characteristics
As a person, you like to collaborate and find solutions where others see problems. You can combine process understanding with operational implementation power. To succeed, you are motivated by working in a startup environment and enjoy having a varied job where you one day act as support for applied experiments in our lab, and the next day work with CAD drawings. You see what needs to be done, grasp it and in a structured and analytical way push towards completion on time. You have a burning interest for development and innovation.
Qualifications
To be successful we believe that you have a Bachelor/Master of Science or equivalent with at least ten years of work experience from mechanical design (CAD), and process development, preferably within process/tooling design/development.
It is preferable if you have industrial experience from process development, R&D and/or tooling design.
Meritorious qualifications:
• Experience with tool design (Injection Moulding, Thermoforming, Sheet metal)
• Keen interest in technology and appreciation of technical challenges
• Knowledge about material properties and optimization of manufacturing/assembly of machined parts.
• Design experience with Solidworks preferred
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, Swedish is an advantage.
• Experience from patent work.

The position is 100 % full-time contract, located in our head office in Varberg, with the possibility to work partly remote.
