Safety Electronics has been a rapidly growing part of Volvo Car Corporation over the last decade. The area of Active Safety where Volvo, through continuous launching innovative and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
Within Protective Safety we are now looking for a System Design Engineer who will become part of the team. We develop safety critical systems and components with ASIL applicable requirements on the products. ISO26262 is an important standard to follow to ensure the quality and functionality of our cars. We're looking for a person who with a good knowledge of system engineering will drive the system safety work within the teams' different systems, ECU' and applications.
Main responsibilities
The System Designer's aim is to develop and maintain electrical system solutions according to the vehicle subsystems (the total vehicle system is divided into a number of subsystems).
The main tasks are to:
* Verify that the VCC system safety processes and methods are used.
* Act as the system safety manager in accordance to ISO 26262 in the different projects
* Support and verify the VCC system safety work products.
* Verify suppliers' system safety work products.
* Perform system safety assessment of supplier's products.
* Plan and drive the development of System Safety Plan, System Safety Assessment Reports of suppliers and Safety Case where applicable
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in engineering within electronics
* Driver 's license valid in Sweden
* Excellent English skills, verbally and written
* Good embedded SW/HW knowledge
* Good knowledge of system safety standards
* Experience of complete in-vehicle electrical system development
