Ålö AB, Sweden is the world leader in production and sales of agricultural front loaders and implements. The company has production in Europe, Asia and North America and our products are sold and marketed globally. You will be a part of a driven and ambitious team of approximately 35 engineers. The R&D department is located at our office in Brännland (Umeå), Sweden.
As a design engineer in hydraulics you will have responsibility for the functional performance and specifications of our hydraulic valves and quick-coupling systems. You will work in close cooperation with our partners, which are responsible for detailed design and manufacturing, throughout the complete product lifecycle. You will also work in close cooperation with the rest of the control systems team, combining your expertise with theirs in software and electronics, on joint development of smart controls through a "mechatronics-approach". We have a strong focus on quality and as parts of our control systems are safety critical, tasks related to product maintenance, risk & hazard analysis, process development, FMEA and general documentation should also be expected. You will also have the possibility to have a leading role in testing and tuning of our control systems both at our R&D lab and at end-customers all over the world.
We believe that you have a relevant engineering degree within mechanical design, applied physics or similar - preferably with hydraulics content. We also believe that you have work experience in the hydraulics field including system test/troubleshooting. Alternative to an engineering degree, a long and proven experience within mobile hydraulics can be accepted. You should have a strong competence in hydraulics, preferably with experience of proportional control valve design/manufacturing and complete machine mobile hydraulics. Knowledge and experience within CAD/PLM, basic electronics and lab equipment setup/testing is wished for. Furthermore, experience within hydraulics modeling (e.g. Matlab or Amesim), functional safety and relevant industries, such as cranes or similar, or from farming/actual use of our products is a merit.
As a person you are self-motivated, possess analytical skills and have an interest in solving technical problems. You have an ability to work on complex assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required to achieve results. You are a social team-player with a positive attitude. We work globally and would therefore like to see that you have experience of international communication. Fluent Swedish and strong English is a requirement. If Swedish is not your native language, studies in Swedish in parallel to the employment can be required
