Job Description

Your role
As a DBA, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of databases in the program landscape. This includes:
Installation and configuration of database systems
Performance monitoring and optimization to ensure data is readily available for users
Security by implementing access controls and user permissions
Backups and recovery to safeguard against data loss
Disaster recovery planning to minimize downtime in case of emergencies
Database design and modeling to ensure data is organized efficiently
Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise
Communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Required Skills
Good Understanding of Database Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, security measures, backup, and recovery. (Good to Have, Open Learn)
Kubernetes Expertise: Experience in managing databases within Kubernetes environments, including configuring pods, services, and persistent storage.
Containerization with Docker: Ability to create, manage, and optimize Docker containers for database applications.
Infrastructure as Code: Experience with tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of database resources.
Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that arise in database environments, especially within Kubernetes and Docker.
Communication and Leadership: Competency in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leading projects and teams.
